Yesterday, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), which operates the plant, admitted to Japanese media sources that an explosion on 15 March damaging reactor unit 2 occurred after two apparently failed attempts to relieve pressure within the reactor containment vessel by opening valves.
