Tiny Amount of U.S. Gulf Oil, Gas Output Restored-MMS PDF Print E-mail

A trickle of crude oil and natural gas production was restored in the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of Hurricane Ike, the U.S. Minerals Management Service (MMS) said Sunday.

Some 99.6 percent of the Gulf of Mexico's 1.3 million barrels per day of crude oil production and 91.9 percent of its 7.4 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas production remained shut, compared with 99.7 percent and 98.5 percent, respectively, on Saturday, according to the MMS.
