Appleton May Turn Waste into Cash PDF Print E-mail

City officials hope an eternal flame burning outside Appleton's wastewater treatment plant becomes a casualty in the battle against high fuel prices.

The Common Council last week voted 15-0 to accept a $10,000 grant from Wisconsin Focus on Energy to complete a study exploring ways to use methane gas produced during the treatment of sewage as well as waste produced at the city water treatment plant.
