GOP Open to Tax Deal in Talks on Deficit PDF Print E-mail

Republicans in Congress are signaling a new willingness to include more tax revenue in a deficit-reduction agreement, in a bid to break the deadlock gripping a congressional committee.

Republicans on the deficit-reduction supercommittee have proposed finding ways to raise taxes and revenue by about $350 billion over 10 years in exchange for cutting tax rates below Bush-era levels.
