'Rush to Renewables' and 'Dash to Gas' Expected to Continue in 2011

Shane Mullins, Industrial Info's vice president for product development, predicts that two major trends that shaped the U.S. Power Industry in 2010--the "dash to gas" and the "rush to renewables"--will continue in 2011.

"At least 7,000 megawatts (MW) of new gas-fired generating capacity moved forward during the year, and there was a lot of spending for uprates and upgrades at existing facilities."
