Nuclear Industry Seeks to Stop Waste Fees

The Nuclear Energy Institute wants to stop the Department of Energy from collecting $750 million a year for its $24 billion nuclear waste fund, to create long-term waste storage options. The nuclear industry's chief lobbyist said the fees should be stopped because the Obama administration pulled the plug on plans to develop the Yucca Mountain storage facility in Nevada.
