Tampa Pipeline Project Shut Down

Hillsborough County environmental regulators have halted a section of a multimillion dollar pipeline project after learning that contractors hired by the city may have excavated debris from a former landfill and disposed of it without a permit.

 

Earlier this year, workers began tearing up portions of 19th Street to replace a failing pipe that provides drinking water to residents from Corrine Street to Fifth Avenue.
