New orders for manufactured goods in May, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $3.3 billion or 0.7% to $469.0 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported Tuesday. This followed a 0.7% April decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.4%.
New orders for manufactured durable goods in May, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $2.7 billion or 1.3% to $217.4 billion, revised from the previously published 1.1% increase. This followed a 0.3% April decrease.
