Canadian pipeline company Enbridge Inc. said Tuesday it will spend about $550 million to expand its pipelines serving oil producers in the Bakken and Three Forks formations in North Dakota, Saskatchewan, Montana and Manitoba.
The expansions will add about 145,000 barrels a day to Enbridge's Bakken pipeline capacity by early 2013, and could be expanded further to 325,000 barrels a day at low cost, the company said. The pipelines will run from facilities near Tioga, N.D., to Enbridge's Mainline terminal in Cromer, Manitoba.
