Manufacturers Expect To Cut More Costs, Jobs

A majority of CFOs at manufacturing companies said they won’t approve employee raises this year, according to a new survey by accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP.

About 71 percent of CFOs and senior comptrollers said they are cutting costs by not giving out raises, and two-thirds said they will trim expenses by reducing head counts through attrition or layoffs.
