Dow's Liveris: Nation Needs an Industrial Policy
The head of Dow Chemical Co. used an impassioned speech before the Detroit Economic Club Monday to argue the U.S. needs a bold new industrial policy to stabilize an industry bleeding jobs and reverse a worsening economic decline.
The appearance of Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO of Midland-based Dow, also coincided with the club's announcement of The National Summit, a gathering at Detroit's Ford Field June 15-17 to discuss shaping a national economic agenda around issues of the environment, technology, energy and manufacturing.
