The White House is pulling out the stops to sell a defense trade reform initiative aimed at overhauling the country’s Cold War-era export control regime.

Retired Marine Corps Gen. James Jones outlined the plan on the opinion pages of today’s Wall Street Journal. And this afternoon, the administration released the text of videotaped remarks by President Barack Obama to be delivered at a Commerce Department conference Tuesday.
