In what has been in the works for awhile, EnCana's board of directors has approved a proposal to separate the corporation into two sustainable, independent entities, said president and CEO Randy Eresman.

The two would be a natural gas company, with the working name of GasCo, and a fully integrated oil company, with the working name of IntegratedOilCo (IOCo).
