Roche May Become Biggest Drugmaker by 2014, Industry Group Says |

Roche Holding AG may become the world's largest drugmaker by 2014 because the Swiss company will be hurt less by expiring patents on medicines than Pfizer Inc. and Eli Lilly & Co., which could fall the most in the rankings.
Roche, based in Basel, Switzerland, may control 6% of the global prescription drugs market in 2014, putting it ahead of Sanofi-Aventis SA, which may hold 5.9%, said London-based industry consultant EvaluatePharma, which based the results on consensus data.
