NAM Calls for Bipartisan Efforts to Increase Domestic Energy Supplies and Lower Costs

As oil prices hit a record $135 a barrel, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) called for Congressional action to increase domestic production of energy resources and dramatically expand America’s energy supplies to bring down costs for consumers, workers and job providers.

NAM President John Engler said he is hopeful that Members of Congress will join together to support the energy plan announced by Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) and Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) or similar legislation to support America’s energy needs.
