ONGC Mangalore & Petrochemicals Ltd. has let a contract to UOP LLC, Des Plaines, Ill., to supply technology, basic engineering services, and equipment for an aromatics complex to be built in Mangalore, India.

The complex will be designed to produce 900,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene and 275,000 tpy of benzene to support growing demand for these petrochemicals in Asia.
