Flowserve’s Cookeville Facility Receives Nuclear Quality Assurance Level 1 Qualification
Flowserve Corp. announced that its Cookeville, Tennessee plant has achieved Nuclear Quality Assurance Level 1 qualification.
This qualification enables Flowserve’s valves to be used in the cleanup, or remediation, of contaminated facilities. The contaminants are collected and pumped to facilities where the vitrification process concentrates and fuses the radioactive materials into impermeable glassy solids, which can then be stored safely for thousands of years as the isotopes decay and ultimately become harmless.
