A new electronic position transmitter designed to simplify end position adjustments for actuators has been developed by AUMA. The EWG is compatible with its predecessor, the RWG, which ensures rapid replacements and retrofits.
Advantages provided by the EWG include continuous recording of the valve’s current position, and transmission as an analogue 0 – 20 mA or 4 – 20 mA signal to the control system. Inverse operation is also possible. End position adjustment is simple and straightforward, as tools are not required. Valve position detection is contactless and avoids wear.

Siemens Integral Volume Booster – the simple solution to your high flow needs.
The Integral Volume Booster is designed for pneumatic actuators that require high flow for fast stroking times. The unit reproduces pneumatic signals in a 1:1 ratio for applications that demand increased flow capacity and a reduction in piping, all while maintaining small step accuracy.
The Siemens Integral Volume Booster couples with your PS2 valve positioner and directs a high volume air supply to the actuator. This feature eliminates the complex piping and additional fittings required with external volume booster devices, reducing material and labor costs as much as 60 percent.
The SIPART PS2 positioner offers one of the lowest air bleed rates available, saving you money in air consumption. Together, the PS2 and the Integral Volume Booster decrease your total cost of ownership. Click here to learn more, or here to calculate your savings.

Flowserve Corporation has developed a linear base that can easily attach to a Limitorque MX actuator or QXM actuator (pictured) for use in the electrical actuator control and choke valve markets. The Linear Base (LB) products are available in two sizes and can sustain valve thrusts up to 109 kN (25 000 lbs).
The Limitorque LB has been designed for the growing electrically actuated control valve market and offers the unique combination of a separate thrust base and linear base. This permits the user to remove the actuator separately, leaving the linear base and control valve in place, for easy servicing or modification.
For users requiring compliance with EN15714, Electric Actuators for Industrial Valves Requirements, the LB is designed to comply and can be fitted with an optional EN base in either ISO or MSS flanges. Standard stainless steel stems are available to meet customer load and speed requirements and customer specific stems can be manufactured to specification.

Electric actuator manufacturer AUMA announces that a HART interface option can be ordered with immediate effect for the company’s AC .2 and ACExC .2 controls. The adoption of the popular communication protocol by AUMA strengthens the company’s position as a provider of a comprehensive range of leading-edge actuation solutions, with supporting technologies.
In compliance with the IEC 61158 standard, the HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) communication protocol retains the simple and classic 4 – 20 mA standard signal for analogue data transmission, while allowing for digital communication modulated as an additional signal to the analogue signal.
A major advantage according to AUMA, which is a member of HCF (HART Communication Foundation), is that this facilitates reading additional parameters and diagnostic data from field devices, such as actuators, using the existing 4 – 20 mA infrastructure.
Electronic Device Descriptions (EDD) for AC. 2 controls with HART interface will be available shortly from AUMA for integration with Siemens Simatic PDM, Emerson AMS and Emerson 475 Field Communicator. Following device integration in the appropriate interpreter, the actuator and controls’ most important parameter and diagnostic information, relating to commissioning, configuration and Asset Management, are available without additional programming.
