The Polymer Labyrinth Seal from the A.W. Chester Company is designed to provide improved sealing performance in splash applications for bearing and gearbox protection. This high performance non-contact design eliminates fretting caused by conventional lip seals and helps to reduce maintenance costs associated with premature bearing and gearbox failures.
The unitized, non-contacting 3-piece labyrinth design includes a rotor, a stator and a built-in valve with no wearing parts. While in operation lubricant is contained within the labyrinth and flows back into the bearing housing while outside contaminants are excluded, by centrifugal force and gravity, and redirected through a relief port back to atmosphere.

Spirax Sarco is pleased to announce the release of their new wireless steam trap monitoring system – STAPS Wireless, designed to deliver accurate wireless monitoring and reporting of steam trap performance around the plant.
It is important for steam users to keep track of the performance of steam traps because leaking or blocked traps waste energy and water, where as a healthy steam trap population allows condensate to be removed from the steam system effectively which means it can be re-used. This helps contribute to reduced fuel costs, energy saving and reduced water charges.

Victaulic introduces improvements to the FireLock® Series 745 Fire-Pac. The Victaulic Fire-Pac is a pre-assembled fire protection valve and trim that is pre-wired to a fire alarm control panel or junction box and enclosed inside a metal cabinet. The improvements give customers more options and benefits for installation, maintenance and design.
The new FireLock Fire-Pac design relocates the electrical connection box from atop the cabinet to a location inside the cabinet, creating a lower profile and allowing the 6’5” cabinet to fit through standard doorways for ease of delivery and installation.
The new Fire-Pac can be used in a wider range of operating environments thanks to new insulation and heating components for ambient temperatures as low as 20ºF (-6ºC). The FireLock Series 745 is also weatherproofed to an equivalent of NEMA 4 standards to keep out moisture and dirt.
