Hunt Valve: Longest Lasting Descale Valve Available

Hunt Valve Mega Flo CHunt Valve has released a new descale valve that delivers two to three times longer service life than any other plunger-style descale valve. The new Mega-Flo “C” plunger-style descale valve incorporates the world’s most advanced ceramic materials for reliable, continuous production with the least amount of downtime at rolling mills.

Additionally, the Mega-Flo “C” has an upgraded ceramic housing liner that can now be replaced in the field. This saves the downtime of sending the liner out to the manufacturer to be repaired.

Hunt Valve’s new Mega-Flo “C” descale cartridge upgrade capability enables steel producers to extend the service life of their existing valve installation, making the cost to upgrade similar to competitors’ charges to repair the old technology. Customers with the Mega-Flo “A” or “B” plunger descale valves can upgrade their existing installations by simply replacing the old-style cartridge with a Mega-Flo “C” cartridge since it is built to drop in to the existing valve housings for a quick and easy field upgrade. It offers the benefits of the Mega-Flo “C” ceramic performance enhancements without having to replace the entire valve and results in a 40% cost savings versus purchasing a complete new valve.

Flexitallic: New Offshore Corrosion Sealing Innovation

Flexitallic CorriculiteFlexitallic has unveiled Corriculite, for use in corrosion sensitive applications, including those prevalent in the offshore industry. A newly-developed gasket filler material, Corriculite tackles the problem of flange face corrosion on bolted joints in seawater and hydrocarbon applications supporting industry’s focus on maximising asset integrity, the extension of equipment life and increased operational productivity.

In response to customer demands for an improved material with strong anti-corrosion characteristics, Flexitallic has created the filler material for a range of spiral wound gaskets, specifically designed for use in corrosion-sensitive environments in industries such as oil and gas, power and marine.

Corriculite ensures seals maintain integrity by preventing galvanic corrosion and is Fire Safe to API 6FB. Conventional graphite materials fail to prevent the corrosion of flanges due to graphite’s electrical conductivity and position in the galvanic series. This leads to premature failure and leakage.

GE Oil & Gas: LM9000 and NovaLT12 Gas Turbines

GE Oil & Gas introduced two new technologies at the 2017 Annual Meeting, in Florence, Italy: super-efficient gas turbines LM9000 and NovaLT12.

The LM9000 is a 65MW, 43% simple cycle efficiency Aeroderivative Gas Turbine, derived from the proven GE90 jet engine fitted on Boeing 777. The LM9000 delivers 50% longer maintenance interval, 20% more power and 40% lower NOx emissions, resulting in 20% lower cost of ownership for LNG customers. In addition to LNG applications in off and onshore, it can also be utilized for simple cycle, cogeneration and combined cycle power generation.

GE Oil and Gas NovaLT12GE Oil & Gas also launched the latest addition to its growing family of heavy-duty gas turbines the NovaLT12 . An efficient, flexible, modular turbine designed for high efficiency and lower total cost of ownership than market peers, the NovaLT12 was developed with a special focus on oil and gas midstream operations — both mechanical drive and power generation — and is well suited to a wide range of upstream and downstream applications. The NovaLT12 leverages the success of GE’s NovaLT gas turbines program overall, which includes the NovaLT16 and that of the NovaLT5, designed to meet residential, industrial and commercial customers’ needs with a reliable and efficient plug and play solution below 20 MW.
