Lined Valve Company launches a new knife gate valve designed specifically for the coal and mining market. For longer lasting working life in these harsh and abrasive applications, high-chrome iron inserts are incorporated.
With a heavy-duty cast iron body and yoke, and a stainless steel gate and stem, the Figure 75 provides sealing performance in high cycle applications, and a full packing seal around the gate minimizes the potential for packing leakage. The Figure 75 is built to MSS SP-81 certification and is available in standard sizes 2-24” with custom sizes available for manufacture in the Woodland, WA factory.

This robust urethane lined valve features a one-piece, molded in place full body liner and integral 650 Brinell hardness high-chrome iron inserts. The Figure 75 is a great addition to the wide range of knife gates offered by LVC, now adding the specific needs of bottom ash and mining tailings.

Conval offers Clampseal® fire-safe globe valves for refining and chemical plants where fire safety is a major concern. The fire-safe valves are available in Y, angle and T-pattern configurations in ½” through 4” sizes, up to ASME 2500 pressure ratings, and with NPT, butt weld, or socket weld ends. Other end connections are available upon request.
The Clampseal fire-safe valve contains a simple mechanism that compensates for thermal expansion. As a result of this and other design features, the valve meets API fire-safe standards by extremely high margins. The testing procedure calls for the test valve to be placed in-line and pressurized for 75% of rated pressure, then subjected to a 1,400 – 1,800° fire for 30 minutes. The valve is then quenched with water to cool it to ambient temperature, cycled to prove operability, then subjected to further testing. The valve is required to maintain strict leakage allowances during and after the burn.
