Emerson Supplying BP in the North Sea

Emerson has been awarded a five-year contract with BP to provide predictive maintenance and operational support services to ensure safe, optimized production from its Clair Ridge platform and Glen Lyon floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Clair Ridge is a multibillion-pound investment developed by BP and its co-venture partners ConocoPhillips, Chevron and Shell. Construction of the platforms was completed in 2016, with first oil announced on November 23, 2018. Clair Ridge is designed for 40 years of production. The development is targeting 640 million barrels of oil reserves, with peak production expected to be around 120,000 barrels of oil per day.

BHGE Supplying World’s Largest IGCC Power Plant

BHGE is delivering severe service control valve packages to Saudi Aramco’s Jazan Integrated Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant. At greater than 2,500 MW, The Jazan IGCC Power Plant is the world’s largest gasifier-based Power Plant, using vacuum residue and high-sulphur fuel oil from the Jazan Refinery to fuel Power Generation to feed the local Jazan complex, and to help meet the increase in energy demands across the Kingdom of Saud Arabia.

Metso Closes Acquisition of HighService Service

Metso has successfully completed its acquisition of HighService Service, the service division of the Chilean mining engineering, construction and technology company HighService Corp. The acquisition was announced in January 2019 and was approved by the Chilean competition authority in March.

HighService Service offers its customers a variety of services from maintenance to commissioning and remote monitoring. The company has approximately 1,000 employees and it operates in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

DistributionNOW Reports First Quarter 2019 Results

DistributionNOW announced results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2019. Revenue was $785 million for the first quarter of 2019, up 3% year over year. Net income was $18 million for the first quarter of 2019, versus $2 million a year ago. Non-GAAP net income excluding other costs was $13 million for the first quarter of 2019 compared to $1 million a year ago.

Weir Valves & Controls USA has appointed AROD Valve Services LLC. as an authorized representative effective immediately. AROD’s owner, Dave Martin, was formerly a regional sales manager for Weir Valves & Controls USA and has many years of experience specifying and selling valves for nuclear applications. Territory coverage will include Arkansas Nuclear One, Grand Gulf, North Anna, Riverbend, Surry and Waterford nuclear plants.
