Emerson Announces New Data Center in Marshalltown (IA)

Emerson Process Management has announced plans to build a $12 million data center in Marshalltown.

The center will back up information from Emerson operations across the world. It will install computers, servers and air conditioning towers into a remodeled building on the campus of Fisher's, a division of Emerson.

Richard VandeVusse of VanAire, Inc. Passes Away

Richard VandeVusse, industrialist and visionary died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Marquette General Hospital.  He was President of VMA associate member VanAire, Inc., Ag Solutions and VanAire Houston.  Dick was born December 8, 1953 in Holland, Michigan.  He graduated 1997 from Michigan Technological University with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Administration.   

Dick has served on many boards including the City of Gladstone Economic Development Corporation, the National Biodiesel Board, LSSU Industrial Advisory Board, Michigan Renewable Fuels Commission, Member of the MTU Presidents Club, Marble Arms Advisory Board, M-Tec Advisory Board, and MUMC Board of Trustees.

Dick’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit was recognized in 2005 when VanAire, Inc received Michigan’s Cool UP Summit Winner for High Tech Enterprises.  VanAire, Inc received the Delta County Business of the Year Award in 2005.  Also in 2005 VanAire, Inc was recognized as one the top 50 Michigan Entrepreneurial Companies to Watch.  Most recently Dick was honored as one of Michigan’s most outstanding manufacturing leaders by the Michigan Manufacturers Association.

Dick shared his knowledge and was always helping others in the community. He challenged himself and his employees to do better-to go to the next level.  He was a true innovator and visionary.  His legacy will live on.

ASCO Numatics Announces Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarships

ASCO Numatics announced a new program that will award two $5,000 scholarships to U.S. engineering students who are pursuing careers in industrial automation-related disciplines. Additionally, ASCO Numatics will make $1,000 grants to the engineering departments of the colleges in which the winners are enrolled.

Cameron Reaches 3-Year Agreement With MaxTorque

Cameron announces a three-year partnership agreement with MaxTorque, LLC to supply their gear operators for Cameron’s pipeline ball valves.

“Incorporating MaxTorque’s high performance gears into our portfolio allows us to offer a valve package that has unique features and benefits that specifically meet our customers’ needs,” said Willy Findlay, President of the Engineered Valves Division. “This agreement will allow us to offer a differentiated product that can be specified and sold on a value basis.”

Metso Acquires MAPAG Valves GmbH in Germany

Metso Automation and the Linde Group have signed a purchase agreement regarding MAPAG Valves GmbH, a manufacturing company of high performance butterfly valves for the petrochemical, air separation and liquefied natural gas (LNG) industries. The enterprise value is 36 million euros.
