Emerson Accepting Applications for ASCO Engineering Scholarship
Emerson reminds U.S. college students to apply, by May 31, to its 2021 ASCO Engineering Scholarship Program.
Emerson will award two scholarship packages in 2021, each consisting of a $5,000 scholarship and a $1,000 grant to each recipient's college engineering department for research support. The recipients may also be eligible for an Emerson internship.
The scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and legal U.S. residents. Among the requirements, applicants must have completed their sophomore year in a bachelor's degree program or be enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited U.S. educational institution at the time of application.
To date, the company has distributed $156,000 in ASCO Engineering Scholarships and grants, supporting 26 outstanding U.S. engineering students and their colleges.
The issue is that assemblies are not currently treated as “engineered” items; they are often produced by slapping the actuator on the old (or new) valve specified by the piping requirements without much understanding of the specifics of the interactions between valve and actuator connections through the drive train (coupling).
Pinch valves are a simple valve design that uses an elastomeric tube forced together or pinched to stop the flow of media.
As the industrial world continues to expand in its use of CAD data and 3D digitizing technology, the advances in blue laser scanning and structured blue light are further supporting industrial operations throughout the design, manufacture and aftermarket servicing processes.
