Standards for Actuator and Gearbox Designs

As the world has become global, variations in equipment dimensions have become more widespread, creating inconsistencies and problems fitting the various parts together, including flanges, spigots and other parts for gearboxes and actuators. Standards from the Manufacturers Standardization group and the International Organization for Standardization can help marry the right parts for equipment and applications, but differences also exist between standards in this nation and around the world. MORE

VMA Stats Show Year Starting on Positive Note

Several indicators VMA tracks show the year is starting well for the valve industry. A recent monthly VMA member survey indicated an upward swing for late 2020 moving into 2021. That information was backed up by a recent ITR report that showed a slightly positive outlook overall. A few markets, such as oil/gas, are expected to be down, but positive signs abound for other markets, especially going into 2022. These statistical reports are among the numerous benefits available to VMA members. MORE
