Mueller Awarded Contract for AMI Deployment in California City

Mueller Water Products announced the City of Newport Beach, CA, has selected Mueller to deploy 26,500 advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) water meters. The project will include the replacement or retrofitting of all current city water meters with the Mi.Net AMI system.

The Mueller Network Operations Center will support the new AMI system and will monitor all network devices. This will allow the city to focus its time and resources on the delivery of water rather than network and information technology support.

Emerson Names Akberet Boykin Farr as VP of Diversity and Social Responsibility

Emerson has appointed Akberet Boykin Farr as vice president of diversity and social responsibility, effective December 1, 2020. Boykin Farr, who has managed the company’s internal diversity and inclusion (D&I) programs since 2017, will continue to oversee the D&I function. In her new role, she will also manage the Emerson Charitable Trust, coordinate the company’s corporate social responsibility reporting and serve as community liaison in St. Louis, the global headquarters of the Fortune 200 company. She will take over CSR duties from Dave Rabe, who is retiring in December after 36 years with Emerson, most recently serving as vice president of corporate social responsibility the past four years.

Neles Adds to Distributor Network with 13 New Partners

Neles signed 13 new distributor agreements in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the second quarter of 2020. The new distributors help to further expand the coverage of Neles’ valve offering in the various customer industries of their respective countries.

The distributors serve process industries, such as refineries, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, steel, bioenergy, food, power, pulp & paper and wastewater. Some of the distributors also provide service support for Neles valves and valve controls.

Baker Hughes and Würth Announce Joint Service Offering

Würth Industry North America (WINA) and Baker Hughes announced a joint service offering to expand their capabilities to provide advanced design, digital inventory, and customized 3D printing services to customers in a range of industrial sectors.

WINA, a subsidiary of Würth Group, the world’s largest fastener distribution company, will collaborate with Baker Hughes on advanced design and additive manufacturing opportunities across the oil and gas, renewables, power generation, maritime, automotive, and aerospace industrial sectors.

NASA is among the first customers to benefit from the joint service offering. Baker Hughes is adapting and printing a NASA design using a hybrid of direct energy deposition, an additive process, and machining to manufacture a part to be used in wind tunnel testing.

Rawson/Industrial Controls Expands Emerson Partnership

Rawson/Industrial Controls, an ERIKS company, has announced an agreement with Emerson Industrial Automation & Controls (formerly GE Intelligent Platforms) to become an official channel partner in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. The announcement expands upon their existing 30-year partnership with Emerson Automation Solutions across seven states in the northeastern U.S.

As a result of the agreement, Rawson/Industrial Controls customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas will now have access to products and technologies offered by Emerson Machine Automation such as programmable automation controllers (PACs), I/O, industrial computing and displays, SCADA and Edge technologies, motion controllers/drives, human machine interface (HMI) software and more.
