EGC Holding Company LLC (doing business as EGC Enterprises Inc.) has acquired Slade Inc., a Statesville, NC manufacturer of patented graphite yarn and braided valve and pump packings. The acquisition of Slade will expand EGC’s product offering to the valve OEM and MRO markets, which currently includes quick turn VSG graphite pressure seals, engineered graphite die formed rings, die cut gaskets, laminated sheets and graphite roll material. EGC will maintain operations in Chardon, OH as well as Statesville, NC.

“The addition of Slade graphite yarn and packing allows our customers to source a comprehensive line of fluid sealing solutions from a single supplier. We know that many of them use both engineered, made to order seals and gaskets, as well as off the shelf bulk packing, and EGC can now be that single source. Just as EGC is a respected name in the fluid sealing market, Slade is also well known for their high quality graphite packing. We are excited to have them join EGC,” states Hugh Slater, CEO of EGC Enterprises.

“Our combined experience of over 60 years in the fluid sealing industry, along with our recognition of bringing solutions to industry worldwide will serve Slade and EGC well as we advance to the next level of products and service to industry. The decision to mutually expand our products, services and experience will bode well for continued growth in both established and new markets. We are excited to join with EGC and to enhance our recognition in the marketplace,” states Ward Crosier, of Slade, Inc.
