Flowserve Corporation, a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, has won top honors for its new magnetic-drive pump with true secondary containment: the Innomag TB-Mag dual drive. The 2025 Vaaler Award in the Fluid Flow category was bestowed by an independent panel of experienced engineers from leading operating and engineering companies.

“I’m proud of how our team has harnessed the Flowserve Business System’s ‘Innovation Excellence’ pillar to drive this industry-leading innovation," said Matt Klopfer, vice president of Industrial Pumps at Flowserve. “The Innomag TB-Mag Dual Drive is another example of Flowserve’s strategy to diversify our product offering while meeting customer needs. We’re delivering safer tools for plant operators while enabling business success.”

Launched in March 2025, the Innomag TB-Mag dual drive pump is the world’s only magnetic-drive pump to eliminate leaks. Pumping hazardous or toxic chemical fluids requires safeguards to avoid potential catastrophic consequences for operators, facilities, and the environment and the Innomag TB-Mag dual drive pump sets a new benchmark for safety and environmental protection. It is also a safe alternative to Canned Motor Pumps (CMPs) because its secondary containment is formed by the pump, not the motor, eliminating the fundamental risk of using an electrical device for liquid containment.

"The Vaaler Awards celebrate the spirit of innovation that drives our industry forward," said Traci Purdum, editor-in-chief of Chemical Processing. "Companies like Flowserve exemplify the commitment to excellence and continuous improvement that John Vaaler championed throughout his career. Their Innomag TB-Mag Dual Drive represents the kind of breakthrough thinking that not only solves today's operational challenges but also sets new standards for safety, efficiency and sustainability in chemical processing. We're proud to recognize innovations that make a tangible difference in plant operations and the broader industry."

Established more than 50 years ago by Chemical Processing, the Vaaler Awards recognize products and services that dramatically improve the operations and economics of chemical processing plants. The awards honor the legacy of John C. Vaaler (1899-1963), who served as chairman of Chemical Processing's Editorial Board from 1961 until his death and as editor-in-chief beginning in 1946, following 24 years of distinguished service in the chemical and related industries.
