Emerson ASCO Numatics Series 653Emerson announces the introduction of the ASCO Numatics 653 Series of air preparation products. Available in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" port sizes, the 653 Series has a high flow rate for its size. This enables customers to power more products from the same Filter-Regulator or Lubricator (FRL), or reduce pressure drop across the system, both of which enable potential energy and cost savings. The range of the 651, 652 and 653 Series consists of filters, regulators, filter regulators, lubricators, soft starts, quick exhausts, diverter blocks and shut off valves.

ASCO Numatics 651, 652, and 653 Series are ideal for use in any application that requires high volumes of air or where space is limited. Original equipment manufacturers will benefit from the wide temperature range (-40°C to 80°C), and ATEX and CUTR certification, which enables this product to be used in challenging and harsh environments, and applications such as valve piloting in the process industry. The modular air preparation products have a robust construction and are easy to assemble, mount, and position. New endplate flanges allow the removal of the manifold assembly without disconnecting the piping.

High Pressure Equipment Company Extreme Temp ValvesHigh Pressure Equipment Company has developed a line of standard and custom valves and fittings specifically designed for cryogenic and extreme heat environments. For these applications, HiP uses an extended stuffing box design with fins provided around the packing area to move packing away from cold or hot zones and dissipate the heat or cold for safe and reliable operation.

Standard and custom extreme temperature valves are available in manual and air operated configurations for pressures from 10,000 to 30,000 psi. These valves use coned-and-threaded connections to provide extra dependability and are available in special materials such as Monel and Hastelloy.

Gases like nitrogen, argon, and hydrogen present unique challenges that demand special gas handling components, like HiP's extreme temperature valves. These gases are used in a wide range of applications including compressed gas fill plants, cryogenic test benches, cryogenic vaporizers, cryogenic pumps, fuel cell systems, fueling stations, and many others.

EGC: Certified Low Emissions Valve Technology for LDAR Programs

EGC’s Thermafoil 2236–CLE (Certified Low Emission) is a high-temperature, high-density, die-molded valve stem packing that is ideal for refining, petrochemical and chemical plants. EGC’s Low-E solution is based on our partnering agreement with Teadit and use of their fugitive emissions test approved Style 2236 braided product.

Thermafoil 2236-CLE is self-lubricating, non-hardening and dimensionally stable while, at the same time, is resistant to gasses, fluids, heat, pressure and most chemicals. Its high-temperature flexible graphite and Inconel filament jacket afford mechanical stability while advanced construction provides leakage control and high integrity VOC and VHAP emissions containment.

It is the only API 622 approved packing that doesn’t degrade above 500oF and has been proven to pass fugitive emissions testing at 850oF. Thermafoil 2236-CLE has been approved to meet API 622, ISO 15848 (for both control and on/off valves), TA-LUFT and Chevron Texaco fugitive emissions packing test standards, as well as ANSI/API607 fire test safety standard.

Chesterton Company announces the availability of their 1724 Low E Sealing System to satisfy both block and control valve stem sealing requirements to meet the latest U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) consent decrees for “Low E” valve packings. This now makes available a PTFE valve stem packing for the hydrocarbon and chemical industries that complies with the tightest leakage standard set by the US EPA.

With most manufacturers’ focus on graphitic packings to meet the fugitive emissions limitations of the refining industry, in most chemical plants these graphitic packings are not capable of providing the chemical resistance needed for many valve sealing applications.
